Can I transcribe WhatsApp voice messages on iPhone?
Yes. Long-press the voice message bubble in WhatsApp, tap Share, choose VSkip. About 3 seconds later you have a text summary, extracted action items, and the full transcript if you want it.
Pin VSkip to the top row of the Share sheet the first time (More → Favorites) so it's one tap from then on.
Does VSkip work with Telegram voice messages?
Yes. Same workflow: long-press the message, Share, VSkip. Telegram's .ogg and .opus formats are both supported.
Does it work with iMessage, Signal, Viber, Discord?
Yes for all of these. Anything that exposes a voice message to the iOS Share sheet, VSkip handles. Confirmed working: WhatsApp, Telegram, iMessage, Signal, Viber, Threema, Discord voice notes. The one we can't support is Slack — Slack doesn't expose its voice clips to the iOS Share sheet at all.
What's the Daily Voice Digest?
A single push notification at 8 PM (your local time — configurable in Settings) with every voice message you sent to VSkip that day. Each one appears as a one-liner you can tap to expand: sentiment, duration, action items, full summary. It turns a scattered day of voice notes into a 30-second evening catch-up.
The digest only fires when you have at least 2 summaries for the day — no empty "0 voices" notifications. If you prefer a different time or want to turn it off entirely, Settings → Daily Digest.
Is VSkip free?
7-day free trial, then $4.99/month (or $29.99/year). Voice messages up to 2 minutes on trial, 30 minutes on paid. No account, no watermarks, no ads.
Premium unlocks unlimited summaries and voice messages up to 30 minutes:
- Weekly — $2.99
- Monthly — $4.99
- Annual — $29.99 with a 7-day free trial
Payment is charged to your Apple ID. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends. Manage in App Store account settings.
What languages does VSkip support?
Sixteen: English, Russian, Kazakh, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Turkish, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Hindi, Ukrainian, plus auto-detect. Translation between any two is built in — receive a voice message in Spanish, get the summary in English, one tap.
Does VSkip store my voice messages?
No. Audio files are deleted from our server immediately after processing. Transcriptions and summaries live only on your device. We don't have your name, email, or Apple ID — we can't identify you.
See the full privacy policy for every detail of what we process and send.
Do I need an account?
No signup, no email, no login. We use a random device identifier to enforce the daily free-tier limit — that's the only thing we track about you, and it isn't linked to anything personal.
Does VSkip have a Home Screen widget?
Yes, three sizes. Small shows your latest voice plus a today-count badge. Medium switches to a "Today's Digest" layout when you have 2+ voices (count pill, urgent pill, three one-liner previews with sentiment colors). Large lists up to five voices with full sentiment colors and relative timestamps.
Tap any size to jump directly into the full digest sheet. Localized into English, Russian, German, Spanish, French — the widget picks up your iOS system language automatically. Install via Home Screen long-press → + → VSkip. Full widget page here.
Can I set up Back Tap or the Action Button for VSkip?
Yes. Create a one-step Shortcut in the Shortcuts app that opens vskip://digest, then bind that Shortcut to Back Tap (Settings → Accessibility → Touch → Back Tap) or the Action Button on iPhone 15 Pro / 16 Pro. Two taps on the back of your phone — or one long-press on the Action Button — and you're in today's voice digest.
VSkip's Settings → Quick Access has all three deep links as tap-to-copy chips: vskip://digest (digest sheet), vskip://dictate (recorder), vskip://open (main screen). Step-by-step setup guide here.
What's the /digest command in the Telegram bot?
If you use @vskipbot as a lead-magnet, send /digest at any point and the bot replays the day's voices as a numbered list with timestamps. Urgent-sentiment ones are prefixed with [!]. The bot's digest is in-memory and resets at midnight (server time); for a persistent cross-device digest with scheduled push notifications, the iOS app is the right tool.
Does VSkip send my audio to OpenAI?
No. We use Groq, Inc. (California, USA) — Whisper Large V3 for transcription and Llama 3.3 70B for default summarization. When Premium users select the Meeting, Email, SOAP, Case, or Interview template, summary generation uses Anthropic's Claude instead. Neither provider uses your inputs to train models.
The first time you use VSkip, the app shows an AI Processing Notice sheet explaining exactly what data is sent and to whom. You must tap I Understand and Agree before any audio leaves your device. You can revoke consent at any time in Settings → Privacy & Legal → AI processing.
Can I use VSkip on iPad?
Yes — VSkip runs on iPhone and iPad. Requires iOS/iPadOS 26 or later.
Does VSkip work without internet?
No. Transcription and summarization happen on our server (via Groq). Your voice message and its transcript are sent securely over HTTPS; we never keep either longer than it takes to respond. If you need strictly on-device transcription with no network, iOS 26's built-in Transcribe action is the right tool — but it only works in iMessage, and it gives you a raw transcript rather than a summary.
How is VSkip different from Otter.ai?
Otter is built for recording your own meetings. VSkip is built for consuming other people's voice messages from messengers. Different workflows, different outputs. Full comparison here.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Open the App Store app → tap your profile → Subscriptions → VSkip → Cancel Subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
I was charged but the paywall is still showing
Usually a sync hiccup. In VSkip, open Settings → Restore Purchases and wait a few seconds. If it still doesn't clear, email maxim498@mail.ru with your receipt and we'll sort it manually within 24 hours.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple, not by us. reportaproblem.apple.com — Apple usually approves refunds for indie apps without friction.
How can I contact support?
Email: maxim498@mail.ru. Solo developer, real person, response usually within a day. If it's a bug, please include your iOS version and what happened.
