VSkip - Voice Message Summary

VSkip summarizes voice messages from WhatsApp, Telegram, iMessage, and other messengers. You share a voice message with VSkip, and it returns a text summary.
What is sent: When you submit a voice message, the audio file and its transcribed text are sent from your device to our server, and from our server to a third-party AI provider for processing. No other information about you (such as Apple ID, contacts, or device identifiers tied to you) is sent with the data.
Who receives it: Groq, Inc. (California, USA) hosts the speech-to-text model (Whisper Large V3) and the default large language model (Llama 3.3 70B) used by VSkip. Per Groq's API policy, your inputs are not used to train models. See Groq's Privacy Policy. When Premium users choose the Meeting, Email, SOAP, Case, or Interview template, the transcribed text (not the audio) is also sent to Anthropic, PBC (California, USA) for summary generation using the Claude model. Why it is sent: Only to produce the transcription and summary that VSkip returns to you. The data is not used for any other purpose.
Your consent: VSkip will not send any audio or transcribed text to either provider until you have explicitly agreed in the in-app AI Processing Notice. You can revoke this consent at any time in Settings → Privacy & Legal → AI processing. If consent is revoked, features that require the AI service (voice summarization, AI chat, text reply generation) will stop working until you re-enable it.
Retention: The audio file is deleted from our server immediately after processing. We do not store transcriptions or summaries on our servers.
Device identifier. We use a randomly generated device ID (stored locally on your device) to enforce daily free-tier limits. This ID is not linked to your name, Apple ID, or any personal information.
We do not store transcriptions, summaries, voice messages, or any content you process through VSkip.
The following data is stored locally on your device (in App Group shared storage) and is never sent to our servers:
VSkip uses the following third-party services. Each is described with what data is sent, who receives it, and why.
We do not use any advertising SDKs, analytics frameworks, or tracking services.
If you use the VSkip Telegram Bot, your Telegram user ID is used for rate limiting. We do not access your Telegram profile, contacts, or message history. Voice messages forwarded to the bot are processed and immediately deleted, same as the iOS app.
VSkip does not require registration, login, email, or any personal information. There is no user account.
Premium subscriptions are managed entirely through Apple's App Store. We validate purchase receipts to confirm subscription status but do not store payment details. Apple handles all billing.
VSkip is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect data from children. Since we collect no personal data from anyone, this applies equally to all users.
Since we do not collect personal data or maintain user accounts, there is no personal data to access, correct, or delete on our servers. Your on-device data can be deleted by removing the app.

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of VSkip after changes constitutes acceptance.
